How privacy works in the Alpha
What Aria keeps
Since 8 October 2026, Aria saves automatically to your private account: your conversation history (typed messages and finalized voice captions — never audio), short notes about you taken from what you said, the situations you talk about, outcomes you report and tentative learnings from them. This lets you continue without explaining again. Memory is on by default. Optional controls let you turn off future memory (stops new saved notes; existing ones stay usable until you delete them) or mark a chat “don't remember” (nothing new saved from it, though Aria may still use what it already remembers). You can see, correct and delete any of it — single notes, whole conversations, or everything — in What Aria remembers.
Saved items stay until you delete them. Older notes may be out of date, so Aria treats them as possibly changed. Items that had already expired or been deleted before this change are not brought back. Deleting a note also removes the message it came from, and Aria's replies that used it, from your saved history.
Bring It to Aria (screenshots and pasted messages)
Screenshots and pasted text you bring are sent to the AI service to be read. Aria's app does not save the original images or pasted text. It keeps a temporary reading (what the messages appear to say, possibly quoting them) for that conversation; it becomes unreadable when you leave or after 24 hours and is then removed by an hourly cleanup, so physical removal can happen somewhat later. Bring It chats are “don't remember” chats: the chat itself, including Aria's replies (which may quote the messages), becomes unreadable when you leave or after 24 hours and is then removed by the same hourly cleanup. If you copy a reply elsewhere, that copy is yours and outside Aria.
Nothing from a brought message becomes lasting memory unless you choose Remember (a summary you can review). Remembering checks your Life context and Situations settings and global future-memory setting. Linking to a Situation alone does not save it. A remembered summary is exported with its source link and stays until you delete it, and is removed if you delete it or its Situation. How the AI service and its providers handle the images and text they receive is not yet confirmed.
What Aria's own app doesn't keep
Aria's app never records audio, and voice captions are saved only once a turn is finished (not partial words). Research review, study usage analytics and check-ins stay off unless you turn them on — automatic memory does not turn them on. This does not cover the AI service below, which receives what is sent to it and handles it under its own terms.
Usage records (never your words)
Always recorded, to keep the service working and safe: errors, response times, which AI model answered and how many tokens it used, voice connection results, account created/deleted, and that a safety response was shown. These carry no words, titles or saved content and are linked to a pseudonymous code, not your email.
Study usage analytics are separate, off by default, and only recorded if you turn on "Share study usage analytics" in Settings: which entry you chose, what kind of help a conversation became, saves, revisits (on your own or after a check-in), check-in changes, outcome type, feedback category, memory changes, and whether an approved learning was linked or reused — as categories and counts only. Turning it off stops new study records. This is a different switch from letting the study team read feedback you send.
AI provider processing (separate from Aria)
To reply, what you type, say, paste or upload is processed by a third-party AI service: Lovable's AI service, using OpenAI models. That processing is separate from what Aria keeps, and the service's and providers' own terms and settings apply.
11 October 2026: the optional setting that let Lovable keep full copies of this project's AI requests and replies for debugging (kept up to 90 days) was turned off. Requests sent before then may already have been kept under that setting. Lovable's AI service still keeps summary records of each request, such as time, model and size. How the AI providers handle content, and for how long, is not yet confirmed; we've asked and are waiting for a written answer. Deleting your Aria account does not remove the AI service's records.
We don't promise deletion everywhere, processing in a particular region, or zero retention. Lovable's published privacy policy says apps' end-user data is not used to train Lovable's models; that is not the same as zero retention, and the providers' terms for this project are not yet confirmed. See also the data processing agreement (described as covering Business and Enterprise plans; coverage for this project unconfirmed) and Lovable's AI documentation.
Your controls
In “What Aria remembers” you can see, correct, delete or export what Aria's app holds about you (the AI service's own records are not included). In Settings you can delete your account, which removes your data and sign-in identity and gives you a receipt. Backups may take longer to age out; we don't promise instant erasure from backups.
Not an emergency service
Aria is not an emergency service or a live crisis-monitoring service, and support requests are not emergency monitoring. If you are in danger, contact your local emergency services. For an immediate emergency in the US, call 911. For suicide or mental health crisis support, call or text 988.
